Today was a quiet day for both boys . Connor continues to eat more and more and has even pooped a couple of times. Tomorrow morning at 9 am Connor is having the same heart valve surgery that Jackson had. He is a strong little guy especially thanks to Mommies liquid gold. I will update on Connor as soon as I hear any news .

Jackson was so busy squirming around today once he heard my voice. I can't beleive how busy he is. He is looking better and more settled every time I see him.

I bought a NICU bracelet today when I was visiting the boys. It is a great way to support the NICU. They are $4.00 each and if you are interested just let me know and I could arrange to get some for people to buy.

Keep up the prayers and well wishes for the two best looking boys in the NICU.;o)

Oh WOW .... look at that Baxter Big TOE!!! He sure loves to show it off. Way to go Jackson! I can't wait to tickle those little piggies. :o)

Such a little guy....so so strong.....Gotta love this baby...xoxo Jackson

Ahhhh I love to sleep :o)

Connor napping ;o)

Connor the littlest, cutest baby burrito :o)
He loves to be snuggled up in a blanket and settles happily into a good sleep. :o)

I just talked to Dace.Jackson came throught the surgery to close his heart valve . He was stable trough the entire surgery and is resting comfortably. He will recover within a couple days and hopefully will be having some feedings of Mommies milk in the next couple of days. Mom held Jackson so the nurse could change his bedding. Yay for Mom and Jackson.
Connor is continuing on his feedings and is now getting fed every two hours... Wow I wonder where he gets that appetite from . :o) They had to up his levels of oxygen because he became stressed from being moved around for an ultrasound of his head. They expect he will setttle back down again. The Dr. has discovered that Connor also has a heart valve problem and is recomending the same surgery for Connor that Jackson had today. They will have matching scars Dad says :o)

Dace is going to update me tonight after they visit with the boys. Check in later around 10 tonight .

I went to see Connor and Jackson today and they both seemed very settled . They are the cutest little guys I have ever seen. It is hard to beleive it has only been 5 days since they were born. I got to see Jacksons perfect little head today and he has hair!! kind of a dark blond colour compared to Connors dark brown hair. I can't tell yet if they look alike because their incubators are not close enough. I will have to take some more pictures so that I can compare their looks. I think this is one of those no news days and that is a good thing for babies in the NICU. Keep up te prayers these little guys are growning stronger every day. :o)

Connor discovered the joys of being swaddled like a baby burrito tonight. Dad says he settled right down to sleep after being tucked in tight. He is tolerating the feedings well and is enjoying Mommy and Daddy's loving touch.

Jackson has recovered well from his surgery. He was being a wild Man and would not stop kicking and squirming, so to keep him calm they had to give him some sedation to help him sleep, He settled down while Daddy cradled his head and feet in his incubator.
On Wednesday Jackson is having surgery to close one of his heart valves. This surgery is common among preemies about 70% have this problem. The Dr's have said this is a simple procedure and they believe Jackson will tolerate it just as well as he did the bowel surgery.
I will update on Wednesday as soon as Jackson is out of surgery.

Connor is going to be getting some more feedings to see if he can tolerate Mommies milk better now. This is a great sign. Keep up the good work Connor . :o)
Jackson was given a blood transfusion because his blood pressure was too low and this has helped a lot and he is now off of the blood pressure medication. Jackson was given a scan of his brain to check for bleeding and the results will be in on Monday. He is holding his own and stable right now. Some good thoughts and prayers to help him continue to grow strong would be great. He has come out of the anisthetic completely and is moving around and showing off that Baxter BIG TOE!! Way to go Jackson ;o)
Today Rhonda was discharged from the hospital. She is feeling very good and will be settling into a routine of visiting Connor and Jackson.

Dace was checking things out and he likes the idea of everyone being able to be updated throught this site instead of making a ton of phone calls every evening to fill everyone in.

Be sure to leave a comment for Dace and Rhonda to see. I know they are very happy with all the support they have been getting .

This is Jackson Thursday May 24th

This is Connor on Thursday May 24th

This is a picture of the diapers that Connor and Jackson are wearing. These are too big on Connor!! I have taken a picture of it next to my keys so you get an idea of how small they are.
At 8 am this morning Jackson needed to have surgery to correct a purforated bowel, The Dr's went in and put a couple of stitches in. For now Jackson is back on the ventilator and is holding his own. He will be taken off feedings for a little while to allow his bowels to heal.
Connor has also been taken off feedings because he has a bit of blood from the feeding tube.

For now Mom will be freezing the liquid gold she has been working so hard at pumping.
On Wednesday May 23 2007 Connor Allen 1lb 13oz 14 inches born at 4:59am and Jackson John 2lbs 1oz 14 1/4 inches made their entrance into this world by C-section,

Their current residence is St. Josephs hospital NICU , Apparently the Dr has told Dad that these two boy are the least of his worries because they are doing so well,

Jackson is breathing oxygen on his own ( AMAZING!!) He seems to have a heart valve murmer and the Dr's are going to try and treat it with medication, and monitor it.This is quite common and 70% of preemies have this .I am proud to say that Jackson does seem to have the Baxter BIG TOE :o) Jackson seems to think he wants to suck his little thumb and was trying to get it into his mouth, the NICU nurses are looking for a soother small enough for him. This is another good sign since preemies often do not have the sucking reflex. Way to go Jackson.

Connor is still on the ventilator but was off of it for a while on Wednesday(23) he is a cutie who has lots of dark hair and eye brows. He has the most long graceful fingers. He was pretty squirmy when I seen him on Thursday(24) Connor had a chest x-ray and is being given some more of the medicatoin to help strengthen his lungs, This is another common thing amongst preemies. I'm not 100% sure but I do think that maybe Connor also has the BIG TOE , we will know more once he starts to show his toes off, Mommy thinks that maybe he is just too embarassed to show us. :o)

Mom is doing well and is up and about. She looks amazing considering what she has been through. Both Mom and Dad are taking things in stride and staying strong for their boys. These are some lucky boys to have such a strong loving family surrounding them. Keep up the good work Mom and Dad.

Dace and Rhonda would like to thank everyone for all of their support.

I will be updating this Blog every couple of days and you can leave comments and messages on here for Dace and Rhonda to see.
